Dr. Jeff J. Mollins is proud and excited to inform all of his patients and the community that he will be treating his injured patients with the aid of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. He has just installed a hyperbaric chamber in his office and will begin treating his patients with oxygen therapy immediately. Dr. Mollins has been diagnosing, treating, and documenting injuries sustained by accident victims (automobile, work, slip and falls, and construction accidents) in downtown Brooklyn for 30 years. He will now have the ability to help his injured patients by utilizing a new modern method that should enable his patients to achieve wellness as expeditiously as possible. By utilizing this new technology, Dr. Mollins (as always) strives to be the leading accident doctor in all of New York.

There are many benefits to hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Some of them are as follows:

The patient will comfortably lie inside our hyperbaric chamber for 45-60 minutes per day during treatment. The chamber is pressurized with 100% oxygen to the equivalent of diving 33 to 45 feet below sea level. This increase in pressure allows more oxygen to be dissolved into the plasma (up to 10 to 20 times more than normal). The air we normally breath is about 21% oxygen. Injured patients in our hyperbaric chamber are breathing roughly 200% to 240% oxygen. Over time, the increase of oxygen stimulates angiogenesis, which is new blood vessel formation in the tissues. Patients who follow the treatments will speed up the healing process by three to five times. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can increase circulation and oxygenation permitting damaged blood vessels to repair, as well as triggering collagen growth which leads to healing. The increase in pressure can also reduce swelling, which in turn, increases blood flow. Oxygen also helps the body create new white blood cells, which helps the body fight off infection.

Our office will be implementing hyperbaric oxygen therapy immediately on all of our injured patients. The oxygen therapy will permit these injuries to resolve much more rapidly. This modern technology will have a major impact on the treatment of our injured patients.
