Auto Accident Doctor Brooklyn
Dr. Jeff Mollins, D.C.
In the unfortunate event that you are involved in an automobile accident (whether you are a driver, passenger, or pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle), it is crucial that you seek medical attention as expeditiously as possible!! Remember, health ALWAYS comes first. Even if you do not think that you have sustained a serious (or any) injury, go to a doctor (whether it is the hospital or a private physician) immediately to get properly examined and evaluated. In many cases injuries that may not seem serious initially, may develop into a much more dire condition in the near future. This is especially true with injuries that result from motor vehicle accidents. Typically, the sooner you see the doctor and get treatment, the quicker your injuries will be resolved. However, the longer you wait, the longer it will take for you to achieve wellness.
When a patient calls our office informing us that they have been injured (or involved) in a motor vehicle accident, we insist that the patient see us immediately (hopefully the same day). Patients injured in car accidents must be evaluated for serious injury (ie. fracture, dislocation, or severe head trauma). These conditions may have dire consequences and must be properly diagnosed and attended to immediately. Dr. Mollins works very closely with referred medical specialists (neurologists, orthopedists, physiatrist, pain management physicians, etc.) so that whatever the sustained injury may be, Dr. Mollins always has a competent physician to treat the injury. The goal is to properly diagnose the condition and begin a comprehensive therapy regimen so that patient can achieve wellness as soon as possible.
It is important to know that all patients that are injured in motor vehicle accidents in New York State are provided medical coverage by No-Fault insurance. What this means is that no matter who is at fault, it is mandatory that the insurance company covering the vehicle you are in (whether you are a driver or a passenger) pay for all health care needs relating to injuries sustained in the car accident. This not only includes all physical injuries but also psychological problems that may occur as a result of the accident as well (ie. post traumatic stress syndrome). Pedestrians that are struck by a vehicle are also covered by No-Fault insurance (usually the insurance of the vehicle that hit them). However, you must go to a Dr. that accepts No-Fault insurance.
Documentation of injuries becomes extremely important, particularly when litigation is involved. Many people involved in motor vehicle accidents that sustain serious injury as a result of the negligence of another party may choose to pursue a lawsuit against that party. Dr. Mollins is an expert at providing objective, uncontested documentation of all injuries sustained. Proper documentation can accurately determine the extent of injuries sustained, if the injury is permanent and how it will affect the patient’s activities of daily living. This can have a drastic impact on the monetary compensation received by the injured patient in settlement or jury verdict.
Dr. Mollins and all of his referred medical specialists accept No-Fault insurance and consider themselves experts in the diagnosis, treatment, and documentation of all injuries sustained by individuals involved in motor vehicle accidents. Dr. Mollins provides quality, competent, compassionate health care and will get you back to wellness as expeditiously as possible.
