Treatment of Injuries with Chiropractic

Dr. Jeff J. Mollins, Brooklyn’s premier accident specialists, has been diagnosing, treating, and documenting injuries sustained by patients involved in accidents (construction, automobile, work-related, slip and fall) for close to 30 years. As a practicing chiropractor himself (Dr. Mollins is a Diplomat of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners), Dr. Mollins is well aware of the benefits of chiropractic care in the treatment of injuries sustained in accidents.

A chiropractor is a health care professional focused on the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders. Dr. Mollins utilizes a variety of treatment methods to help his injured patients achieve wellness. Dr. Mollins firmly believes in the intimate relationship between the nervous system and the spine.  He is well aware that biomechanical and structural derangement of the spine can affect the nervous system. For many conditions, chiropractic treatment can restore the structural integrity of the spine, reduce pressure on the sensitive neurological tissue, thus improve the health of the individual.

Chiropractic can be extremely effective in treating the following conditions:

  • Lower back pain and/or leg pain (sciatica)
  • Neck pain and/or arm pain (brachial radiculitis)
  • Repetitive strains
  • Headaches
  • Car and Work accident injuries
  • Construction (and other accident) injuries
  • Sports injuries
  • Arthritic pain

Once Dr. Mollins has established a working diagnosis of his injured patient (performing a detailed history, examination, and possibly utilizing diagnostic testing), he will place his patient on a course of treatment. Treatment may consist of spinal manipulation also called an “adjustment”. Dr. Mollins will place his hands over the affected region of the spine. By applying a specific gentle force, Dr. Mollins will regain range of motion and decrease pressure over the area treated. An adjustment is painless and the injured patient will typically feel much better after the manipulation is performed. Chiropractic adjustments will most likely be used in conjunction with exercise and various forms of physio and physical therapy (moist heat, electric muscle stimulation, ultrasound etc.)  By performing a series of chiropractic adjustments, range of motion may be restored, pressure on nerves diminished (partially or completely) and our injured patient can achieve wellness.

Chiropractic treatment is an extremely effective, conservative treatment to alleviate and/or cure the injuries sustained in accidents. Just in case a more aggressive treatment regimen is required, Dr. Mollins works closely with referred specialist (orthopedists, neurologists, pain management, physicians, physical therapists, acupuncturists, psychologists, etc.) to provide comprehensive treatment.

Dr. Mollins, as well as all of his referred medical specialists are workers compensation certified. So if you are injured while working, you can get treated at no cost. If unable to work (due to your injury) you can be compensated for lost wages. When (and if) you return to work, you can still receive treatment at no cost.
